Author Message   Is11b1p Posted on Monday, May 18, 2009 - 09:42 pm:        Since I bought my M2 I have put about 3000 miles on it. Now it has about 18,000 miles on it. I've done the obvious things oil,air filter,plugs, etc. What would you guys recommend checking or replacing on it. Got any tips? Thanks Dan   Pkforbes87 Posted on Monday, May 18, 2009 - 09:57 pm:        oil pump drive gear is a possibility. it's known for failing in some bikes, but others have no problem at all. If your rocker boxes start leaking then that's the perfect time to replace the OPDG since you have to pull a rocker box in order to remove the cam cover and get to the OPDG. If it's running alright, I can't really think of anything else that would need to be checked. since you've got an '02 a lot of the problems with earlier models were found out and fixed already by the time yours was produced.
