getting ready to sell my v-star 1100 and thinking about picking up a s3t. i never really liked the cruser seating position, and wondered how the s3t compares. Im currently riding my BX9R, and cant make myself take the low fat slow cruser out anymore... I dont really see too much discusion on the s3, but is it mor or less the same as the s2 without the carb? |

I really like the 99 and later S3T's. The riding position is just excellent for all day riding. Right bar height, the pegs puts your legs in a great position and the seat isn't to hard or soft. Putting 3-400+ miles per day with these is nothing but fun. The bike pulls like a freight train in all gears. It would be nice if 5th gear were an over drive for highway cruising. The large capacity gas tank is 5+ gallons. I bought a Uly and it has a 4.4 gallon gas tank; a mere peanut compared to the S3T's tank. I am alway looking for fuel with the Uly. The deep bags hold way more stuff than I need to carry but it is cool to have a rain suit or jacket liner with you. Just buy one. Good luck, Woodreaux |

About 800 miles is the most I have put on me S3T in a weekend. Comfortable bike but not a Road King. I am 5'8" and would not recommend this bike for anyone shorter and me.

I think the best description I've seen is that you sit on an S3, and in an S2. I haven't ridden both to know how true that is. |

As S3 riders know. The tank does take 5 gal. BUT the fuel petcock is too high in the tank. You can get 4.5 gallons out with the petcock on reserve. That last .5 gallons will stay in the tank. This has been the way for all 3 of the 1997-1998 S3's I have owned. |
