Well I just got a Fan Kit, D&D exhaust, and Race ECM on the bike it runs great when it is cold but when it is warm it acts up. Like I said when warm the when you get above idle it will jump to around 2k RPM and sit there for a few seconds then slowly lower (i.e) 2k,1.8k, 1.5k, back to 1050 rpm over the course of 5-10 seconds. It is rather annoying and I am wondering what might cause this and hopefully someone can help me. All parts where new and the TPS and AFV was reset on install. might need to check to make sure the throttle shaft isn't broken. | ||

The throttle feels the same, there is also no play in the cable. I see some people talking about the butterfly valve in the throttle body break at around 15k im at 13k. Anyone think that might be the issue? | ||

Check for exhaust leak around the headers and leaks around the intake seals into the heads. Had same problem and turned out to be from leaks. | ||

Sounds like an intake leak to me. I check for intake/vaccum leaks with a propane torch with the tip removed, no mess as opposed to an aerosol spray. | ||

Yep sounds like an intake leak. I've never heard of the propane torch method but that sounds like it would work. I've always just sprayed brake cleaner at the intake manifold flanges. If your RPMs jump, then you know you've got a leak. If that's what it is, then American Sport Bike sells a special allen wrench that will make the job less of a PITA. |
