hey all, this is my first post, I have been reading this forum for a while but only registered today... I got a good price / quote with shipping included... Seller Comments: NEW TYRES, JUST HAD SERVICE, LOW KS, FULL RACE KIT AND TUNED, IN IMMACULATE CONDITION, PRICED TO SELL. how long are these motors good for? we are coming into winter here (no snow) ozzy winter... just a table spoon of concrete to harden up for a brisk sunday ride, what do recon? go for it? wait till summer? any thing I should be aware of? I asked all the usual questions, damage? been dropped? condition, mechanical faults, roadworthy ect, and they say all good, what do ya all think? thanks in advance! | ||

Pictures are lower quality but looks clean from here, it's got the updated shock on it too. If you've got the money and the price is right go for it, but here's some considerations: Around here winter is the best time to get a good deal on a bike so maybe you can talk them down a bit. The price is double or more (US dollars of course) what you'd pay for a similar model up here, especially considering mileage... There's my $.02 on the matter. | ||

is this an M2L? The seat looks like it's from an L. Check the VIN on h-d.net. Unless you are short I would rather go with a regular M2. Apart from the aftermarket turn signals, the chopped tail and (of course) the race kit it looks stock and well kept. Can't really comment on the asking price.... | ||

Looks like a good deal to me usually you could pay up to Aus$10,000 for a good M2 in NSW or VIC. For some reason they are always cheaper in QLD. If it looks like its been looked after 32000km is nothing, my 97 model has 90,000 and has never had anything done to the motor. I'm sure you won't regret it. Regards Lee | ||

Any idea what it might cost to ship a bike from the US? Bikes appear to be a lot cheaper here and, if shipping and licensing could be accomplished for a reasonable price, import might be an option. | ||

The problem is that in Australia any bike imported must have a compliance plate. It is very expensive to get an engineer to issue a one off plate for an imported bike. regards Lee | ||

In the US the 4th and 5th digits determine M2 or M2L. KS=M2 and LS=M2L. These should be right after the (MZ) which means Buell Motorcycle Company. | ||

Buell will not issue a homologation certificate (they really can't) and the paperwork and fees nearly always exceed the price of the bike. | ||

thanks for help all! decided to give it a miss as its coming into winter and don't really have any to store her over the winter months (mates house and work would be ok) but I am moving inter state later in the year so the money I would save on shipping it down would be better put towards a bike! importing... might start a new thread! |
