Hey guys thinking about putting new plugs and wires on my 01 X1 lightning. Whats your suggestions and experiance? Also thinking about putting a Single Fire coil on. Does this give better performance? Will it throw codes on my ECM? Suggestions, part numbers? |

I use the buell "high performance" wires. They are 8mm, and orange in color. For plugs, I'm running NGK. No real noticeable performance difference over stock. |

i've tried many different combos of plug wires and plugs (FYI for those who don't already know, plugs are same as V-rod plugs and wires are the same as 1999 HD Dyna for our FI bikes... but double cheak with your parts dealer before ordering ) the only one that I saw on the dyno that made a difference was the gold 10R12 V-rod plug with stock buell wires... almost 3 extra RWHP!!! but what I found out... the gold plate wears off after about a seasons worth of ridding... but even when comparing the best set ups agenst the worst... I could never notice a difference with the "butt dyno"... all seemed the same... but the accel plug wires did make my bike run the roughest. right now I run stock coil, stock wires, and stock plugs... seems to work out just fine. are there any aftermarket coils for our bikes? |

X1's are DDFI, which is single fire. |

I have two sets of the FI orange plug wires I need to get rid of. Brand new. So does anyone know if the 02 M2's are Single Fire? I have a feeling they are...And so do a couple good mechanics around here... (Message edited by brinnutz on May 08, 2009) |

I have had good luck with the iridium plugs from ngk and the buell pro wires in blue, I love anything with buell or the Pegasus symbol on them |

Those ebay head bolt covers are homemade. Check out the pictures the have ribs and the pegasus are all facing the same direction. Check the WTB section I think Scarecrow has a thread there with the part # |

This links has saved some serious money the 20% off is totally awesome. You can get the new $450.00 buell jacket for $350.00. I just bought a rear XB cylinder head for $296.00 and traded it for a fully built stage 2 xl head that retails for $382.00 bare with no valve train parts! |
