Hi all, I recently purchased the aluminum S2 air filter backing plate from American Sport Bike. The part is a beautiful piece but when it arrived I discovered that it does not fit the stock air element or the K&N OEM replacement element for my bike. I have been a product designer for over twenty years and decided to design my own direct replacement for the stock S2 plastic backing plate that warps and cracks from age and heat. The part will be CNC’d from aluminum and use the stock venturi ring along with all the stock mounting hardware. Please note that the holes for the head breathers have been eliminated. Mounting holes(not shown) will be drilled as a secondary operation after the machining is complete. The catch is that I need five more people to go in with me to meet the machine shops minimum requirement of six pieces. Price for each will be $150 plus shipping. I will need a $50 deposit to buy material and the balance paid when the parts are complete. If you are interested you can e-mail me direct at dana@angry8ballchoppers.com Thanks, Dana-C

If you're going to have it CnC'd, why not have the venturi built-in? Though I know of a company that already does that and the piece costs about $150 with new K&N filter. |

Senna, That's odd, I have the American Sport Bike backing plate on 2 S2's, both use the stock cover and filter element. What didn't fit? Brad |
