Looking to get some bike stands, Pitbull, T-rex, or Woodcraft. What type do I need for a 99'X1 & 02' M2? I'm confused (excuse my ignorance) about Spool versus swing arm. Not really confused, but is there a spool set for the tube frames or should I get the swing arm type? As for the front, lower fork lift or a triple tree lift? Are there lifts specifically make for our bikes? Yes, I did read all the search info, but want to get my purchase right the 1st time... |

Unless you drill and install spools, you need the swingarm type stand. As for front, you should get the under triple type of stand, you won't be able to remove the front wheel if you get the fork stem lift because you won't be able to release the axle pinch bolts. Though I don't know how to get them, call American Sport Bike? |

I've got the all aluminum 99701-1VGA, which has the cool factor. If it matters, these are all off-shore made. You'll need the optional paddle adapters also. http://search.harborfreight.com/cpisearch/web/sear ch.do?keyword=motorcycle+stand |

I use the same one as Riviera. I've used it once so far, but the price was right, and it worked great. |

I bought a set for the front and rear for $99 bucks from Handy Industries. Work great! But sponsors for badweb have them also! |

I bought a set of these last year in black. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motorcycle-T-Rex-st ands-rear-front-triple-tree-Sil-S_W0QQitemZ3501686 34703QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessor ies?hash=item350168634703&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_t rkparms=65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 So far they have worked out really well and I like the fact that it has the spool/swingarm option on the rear and the triple/fork option on the front and free shipping ain't bad either. |

I drilled and use a vortex stand with spools on a 2000 M2.

I only have a rear stand. I use a jack to lift at the front of the engine case to get the front wheel off the ground. |
