whats the best way to make my m2 pull more in the top end.

can you change the rev limit by doing different things to the motor. like maybe a shorter stroke and cams and different components.

are there shorter strokes available for these bikes. i like the torque of the bikes but i just want like another grand on the tach is this possible.

Change the cams for some more suited to making power higher in powerband as the M-2 was a torque motor, upgrade your valve springs--XB style are a good bet, roller rockers, and if you really want power, get some XB style heads in a stage 1 or 2 and a 1250 kit. Then an adjustable ignition like Dyna 2000 or Crane, you can bump rev-limit and pick a better advance curve.(I have a nice Dyna set-up for sale BTW.)

Jim,

That's the exact setup I was going to get. I have the XB heads, and was going to get a 1250 kit and .536 cams but then I was told for reliability get xb cylinders and pistons.

I was also thinking of stage 2 head work as well.

Then, it was also mentioned that XB9 pistons and cylinders would be even better yet with .497 cams.

I'm thinking of sticking with my original plan though.

The 9 pistons will give way too much compression for the street, this is a race guys mod. Cylinders are the same on a 12 and 9. And IMHO the 1250 cyls would be more reliable--all aluminum with no darn liner to shift.

Isn't the 1250 kit from NRHS iron lined aluminum?
