So I picked up an S3 fairing/mount and put it on my M2 for wind protection. The problem I'm having is that the handle bars are hitting the fairing or gas tank before hitting the fork stops. Everything that I have read when I searched about this is that the M2/S3/X1 bars are the same, and that the S3T/blast bars are the same. What am I missing here? I rotated my bars back a little bit and the clutch and brake lever down, and that gained a little bit more steering angle, but the levers and the horn switch are still hitting the fairing and tank. Also are S3's front turn signals unique to the S3? Thanks for the help. |

I did this several years ago. I believe that M2 and X1 bars are the same, and that S3 and Blast bars are the same. I was able to keep my M2 bars. It will work. Keep trying. Mine would hit the high beam flash buton on the fairing at full right lock. Once I found the spot for that everything else worked. Are the rubber fork stops still in place on your frame? If not, that may be your problem. I used my M2 turn signals with no problem. I'm pretty sure they are the same as S3's. I really like the wind protection this gives. One of the best changes to my M2! |

S3 came use two different types of handlebars. Higher ones for the T model, and lower height for the standard S3. When I swapped my T bars for lower ones on my S3, I was told that I was being given M2 bars. I did have to try a few times to get the adjustment right on an S3 as well. |

Thanks, it sounds like I just need to keep trying. My M2 signals will work with the fairing, but I didn't know if there were ones that would fill up the whole mount space like the mirrors do. |

Like Kmbuell says I did mine a few years ago and I do recall having to play around with the bars. In the end I found the position where everything worked but I also glued some slightly thicker fork stops just to be safe. I also used my M2 blinkers with no problems. |

My bars barely hit the fairing on full lock and I can make it hit the tank if I push hard. It's a tight fit but you can bent or shim by the mirror bolts to gain a 1/4 to 1/2 inch. |

I posted a pic in the M2 section of the diff between M2 and S3 bars if it helps. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/454563.html?1240591503 Psy |

Thanks for the pic. Is that the difference between the M2/S3 and the S3T bars? |
