Anyone know where I can find a solo seat cover for an 01 X1. The wifes done riding for awhile since there's a bun in the oven. So I might as well remove the rear pegs and make it a solo bike. Thanks for the help. |

some info here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/172743.html Al at American Sport Bike was looking into producing them at one point, but I guess the demand would be too low and the part wouldn't be cost effective. I haven't seen one on eBay for a while now, but they do go up occasionally. If you're lucky maybe the seller won't know what they have and it will be relatively cheap. I've got one painted molten orange that I don't use, I really like keeping it around because I know how rare it is. If you really want one let me know, I would sell it for $250 shipped. Note that it is designed to fit the stock seat. It doesn't match up with the curves on my select seat at all, and I assume wouldn't even come close to fitting a corbin. Excuse the poor quality picture - I'm without my digital camera for the time being. The cowl has the same paint job as the rest of the bike:

personally, i have yet to see one that pulls off the look that people are going for (i hope that doesn't offend any other fellow fabricators, just my .02). if you want a solo tail... i think you need to go get a whole new tail. once again, IMHO, my .02 |

Thanks Phillip I will keep yours in mind. I appreciate the extra info, by the way that is a Great looking bike. Thanks Man Texas, thanks for the honesty. For that very reason I do believe I will try and fab my own. Cause I'm what some say is anal. I like things to flow and look like they belong and that they weren't an after thought. My first baby on the way prevents the new tail section. A little R&D and lets see what I come up with. Thanks for the help guys. |

This guy http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/65028.html?1090239703 made his own. This is a little info on the Eurocomponents cowl http://www.sporttwin.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=2626.h tml I was watching one of the Eurocomponents ones on ebay last month http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&item=270349243726&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3 AIT&viewitem= It really wasn't that expensive but I did some research and apparently they didn't really fit well and it wasn't uncommon for them to blow off while riding. I didn't want to spend the money for such suspect quality, which is a shame because I really like the look too. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. |

Dan, Thanks for the info on the solo seat. I think I'm leaning towards fabing my own. Or having the rear section of the seat reapolstered. To match the soon to be new color scheme hopefully. If nothing else just have some embroidery work done on it. Thanks again. |

There is a guy here who does great fiberglass work (Earl87gta) He does it from home as a hobby- and from what I understand he too has an X1- I'd contact him he may be able to fab one for you. |
