Well I finally found one. I was going to get a custom stainless job but found this Booming Black Can on ebay. Has anyone else got a D&D? I really wanted an American Can and it's the right colour considering my M2 is Black. Plus it comes with the elbow Header bracket. Thankyou Ft. Worth Texas. |

i got one. and i love it. it sounds good on and off the throttle. loud, but that is what a bike is suppose to sound like. loud pipes save lives. psst and you can piss of the neighborhood when you want to. |

I have one too, with the D&D header also. I love it. Never had an ounce of trouble with it. D&D built this thing knowing that tubers destroy aftermarket exhaust systems and set out to make theirs bulletproof. I think they succeeded. I got one with the Texas flag emblem they used before they switched to the black one. I had to ask for it. I think it's a nice touch. |

My only concern is that the slip-on will not fit the stock headers! They include the 45 degree elbow bracket for the front of the muffler, does this fit or have I just wasted $500? |

i have the stock header with the elbow bracket. and like hoot said "bulletproof" i should bolt right up. |

Yep, you're all set. The elbow connects the can to the stock header. |

I don't have any pics handy, but the stock header ends before it makes the turn to the rear towards the exhaust. The stock muffler has an inlet at the top-front that accepts the header. The Buell race header and the D&D header continue down and make the bend to the rear. The elbow that comes with the D&D muffler fits between the stock header and the muffler. I'll post some pics when I get home. |

...just for the record, the distributor that I bought it from said that the elbow is 45 degrees, but it looks more like 90 degrees to me! |

I have d and d on mine too! Somehow the baffle got cut in have and the muffle was shortend 7 inches. I work in a fab shop and found a stainless header I really like but it took some modifying to get it all to fit. It has a growl now!!!

Sweet! Growl is Good! I've found that the Cyclone turns heads anyway, especially at lights when it's shakin' at idle, but I can't wait for the Thunderstorm to come alive and 'Go and Sound' as it was intended in the first place! Cheers! |

Furthermore - How LOUD are these things really? I mean since I've ordered it I've been reading about "The Deafening Thunder" that comes from a D&D can! My insurance company stated that as long as the bike is deemed roadworthy, I'm still covered - but "roadworthiness" pertains to leaks in the system not volume so....? Has anyone else out there committed Insurance Hari-Kari by installing a slip-on or what? |

Not sure if noise tickets will affect your insurance, probably just moving violations. 'Course not paying the fines or failing to make it to court will cost you your license and that would affect your insurance... Local law loud bike friendly? |

Ok, Sweet! Yeah, there are more loud Harley-Davidsons and V8 Hoons in Pine Rivers Shire than just about anywhere else on the North-side, so I would have a more than substantial argument come crunch-time! As for Curious Cops, the Pine Shire Cops are pretty good. They are known to pull you over for a gander at your goods but that's ok I guess...... Riders NOT wanting attention shouldn't ride a Buell! |

OK - It's on! It was fitted this morning and what a difference it has made!!! The D&D would have been on yesterday but the 90 degree elbow had to be modified (a stunning job, executed by Les at Fat Pipes.) The opening was way too large for the headers to fit snug into, and had to be reduced... A HUGE Thankyou goes to Herb and Picko from S.C. Choppers - Those blokes got it all sorted for me and did a hell of a job and in no time at all. Cheers Fellas! The Sound! The extra bite in the power delivery! The Neat Looks! And did I mention the Sound? BOOOOOMM! |

My Carb or Your Carb? If you are asking about mine - D&D reckon this can should suit stock carb/airbox setups but I've got a Sportster Oval Carb Cover with a K&N Filter in it, so it breathes much more readily! In all reality though I will have to get the carb tickled at about the 1000km mark after installing and burning in the Muffler. It accelerates so cleanly now, but you pay the price at the fuel pump because I really only get 150kms out of a tank, (but it's worth it!) The only real difference I've found with the idle is it can be a little stubborn to keep idling on cold mornings, and I think this is due to the carb needing an adjustment to suit the new fuel thirst. Other than that its handled the change remarkably well! Cheers... |
