Last season i took my '00 M2 out for a spin. All was well for about a 6 mile run. Came to my first redlight. Bike is lugging and wanting to stall. Turns out 1st and 2nd gear are "missing" , limped her home, and posted here. Most replies seemed to be backed off detent plate , or shifter pins backed out. It was already September in upstate NY , so I parked it for the winter planning to pull the primary in spring.Pulled her out today, started her up, and lo and behold... fully working transmission. WTF? Symtoms left are: intermittent nuetral light , and worse than normal clunk/semi grind dropping into 1st. Obviously something is still wrong, but what could explain this? Also--only rode a couple miles today up and down thru all gears maybe 5 times.HELP!!! LoL |

Those are the best kind of fixes. What was your fluid level? I know too little and too much both will cause problems. |

What did you see when you took the primary off? Things to check. fluid level, primary chain adjuster and detent plate. Until you take the cover off it is just guess work. I have seen the primary adjuster shoe come apart and cause the lost of gears because the plastic pieces were jammed in the tranny.. |

Thats what i mean...I never even pulled the primary.I just wanted to fire it up today to make sure it would. When I tried the tranny it just felt like it was going down into 1st, so i took it for a spin. Tomorrow I pick up my 1125r , but I will definately check trans oil level on the m2.Something weird going on... |

(sighs) yea... i know..just hoping the Buell Gods had struck the bike with some kinda voodoo. My wife just inherited the bike from me, and its gotta be dependable , since she let me buy a new one.... |
