Does anyone know where the self canceling relay is for the turn signals? Mine work, (flash) but they won't self cancel. Also, where is the best place to pick one up? Tx |

In your manual there is a bunch of checks to run to see where problem is, it could be bad ground or connection to your speedo--your speedo is working, right. It is usually an orange box down by your battery with a bunch of wires plugged in. Should be same as a Sportie. |

the turn signal module is all one unit, you can see it by looking up under your tail section, and in front of the back tire. It's a standard 1995 era Harley stock item. $135.oo a little pricey. You can find them on fleaBay for around $90 new. I just replaced the one on my '95 S2, and my '93 FXRS. They are identical.

I know you have probobally allready checked this, but if there is a burned out bulb, the signals won't cancell. I have also had mine quit cancelling and looked down to discover my speedo not working.Either the cable broken or the tit on the drive broken off. The module relies on the speedo for it's cancellation timing. |

And they never will self cancel, just push the center button when your finished turning. There not self canceling. Bad Lands makes a self canceling / automatic turn signal canceling module. About $75.00 |

Tuber blinkers are self canceling? My 01 x1 has never self canceled since I've owned it. |

Nbuell - if your signals are working and just not cancelling...and if its in the unit (everything else is working) - wanna swap modules? Riding my Uly so much lately I'm used to / prefer non-cancelling now, and I find my S2 cancelling them out before I even get to the intersection in question. I've actually been thinking about cutting the wire (have to look at the schematic) that feeds distance signal to the module... |

To make the signals stay on longer, hold the button down longer before you release it. I got this tip from the S2 service manual section 7,page 45,under rider preference and control. |

Buellish I missed that one! Pretty cool. Basically what it says is that the "timer" doesn't start until you release the switch. Cool, I can use that one daily. Brad |

Looks like this "self-cancelling" thingy applies to "S" models not X1. |

"Looks like this "self-cancelling" thingy applies to "S" models not X1." More specifically it refers to the S2,S2T and earlier Buells which had 1" bars and Harley controls as Guell pointed out above. The S1,S3,S3T and all other tube frame models had 7/8 bars and used a euro style control. |

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will look into the problem further this week. Ratbuell, If it is the module I will drop you a line on the trade, as I like the self canceling feature (it will flash for miles otherwise.) |
