The sheet would be the factory "build sheet". The challenge would be taking the time to dig through it, sort it (not that tough in Excel) and do the counting. The REAL problem becomes spending 3 months defending the answer . . so, in essence the answer has pretty much become "not available" . . . but, it's not that it doesn't exist. |

Not really . . . first of all it's not only big . . . it's HUGE as it captures every morsel of information. It's not so much any sort of secret other than it always (see above post) results in many more questions . . . . I'd ride the bike and enjoy the heck out of it. What do you have one of the Red Stripe? |

I have asked that question to myself before. The summer 2008 Fuell touched on it and I really got curious. It has a pic of a millennium and states that the approx. number built was only 661. How is this so, I have #800. Yeah I see what you mean Court... more questions. https://www.buell.com/en_us/_media/pdfs/owners/Fue ll-2008/Fuell-Summer-2008.pdf (page 8) |

Figure about, depending on the year, between 50 and 65% going overseas. Be mindful that there are variants, like the Lightning Strike, that were sold in other places but never in the USA. I may have to dig through all the "limited" editions sometime and just get some raw numbers. |

Court i wish we could dig through that list..... mdoughten...nice article that was one of my questions...how many of each model were made total...so if that article is close to right, they may a total of like 4500 s1's and like 11500 x1's. do those numbers represent per year, or over the model span? |

Here's some stuff from some internal European communications. I'll keep digging. All my press kits from 2000 on are digital. The older ones are all high res Kodachrome slides and paper.
quote: CARBON FIBRE COMPONENTS Carbon fibre components have been used on race bikes and customs for years and this autumn, Buell is introducing a complete line of carbon fibre accessories for the Lightning series of motorcycles. Not only does carbon fibre add a purposeful, technical look to a motorcycle, it also helps reduce weight – the enemy of high performance. For the 1999 X1, a carbon fibre tank cover, windscreen, heat shield, front and rear fenders, chin fairing and lower belt guard are available for an outstanding complete look, or individual pieces can be selected to replace certain standard components and create high tech detailing. For '96 and onwards model S1 Lightning/White Lightning/Lightning Strike spec bikes, Buell have developed a new wind screen and sprocket cover. Better yet, go carbon crazy with the new carbon fibre tail section and front fender. Buell are even introducing carbon fibre parts for other members of the attitudinal Buell family, so see your uthorised Buell dealer for details.

I had #289 2000 X1 Millenium it was totaled by a drunk driver. 30 days after I bought #274 2000 X1 Red racing stripe. I have the Lucky Devils poster signed by Eric B I know there is another rider in Maryland that has a Red racing stripe like mine, and the #4 bike was next to mine when I bought it. There is an old Motorcycle Consumer News magazine that has the article on the release of these bikes, I still have it in my house. I read the article and saw my first X1 on the floor at the local dealer and bought it. K |

MD did you get the limited edition key fob when you bought your X1? When I bought mine the dealer tried to hold onto it and I knew about it thru the MCnews article I read before I bought my first X1. I still have mine with the original gas cap. K |

YEAh YEAH I got it with the Millennium, the Racing Stripe did not have one, I asked the dealer for it when I took delivery on the Race stripe, and the MCnews article did not say if the Racing Stripe came with one. I will take pictures of the X1 Millennium key fob for you and post them. I've been tearing up my house looking for the MCnews article. Its cool when you read about a bike then see it gleaming underneath the dealer showroom lights then buying it. That Buell opened up so many doors for me in the MC safety world K |

Babired, Yes I do have the keychain fob. Mine hasn't been carried as much as yours. I've always kept it with the extra key so it wouldn't get roughed up. Can anyone tell my how the summer 2008 Fuell mag. stated there were only 661 Millennium models produced and #800 is out there? What happpened to all the other gas caps? Which ones were left out? Why? I have never seen another Mill. with my own eyes. I have seen them for sale on here and on ebay. I sure haven't seen one more uniquely numbered than mine. Wonder were #1 is at? Does Eric have it as part of some kickass collection in his barn? Boy, I sure have alot of questions now don't I!!
