I want to powdercoat my gearcase cover flat black so I proceeded to removing it (along with the primary cover, rocker boxes, swingarm, etc...). I'm at the point where I need to remove the gearcase cover. I need to unplug the cam position sensor but I'm wondering if there is a way to remove the cps itself (I don't think it will survive a 380F curing temperature)? I'm not done removing the gearcase cover because I just realized that I need to remove an oil line first, but I doubt the plug will fit in that little hole. Thanks in advance for any help!

The sensor in the picture has to come off and the timing/rotor cup behind it will have to be removed also before the cam case can be removed. You will have to remove the secondary lock on the 3 pin receptacle then push the pins out to remove the wires and sensor from the cam case. |

Jramsey, thanks a lot for your help. I was starting to wonder if I would have to cut and resolder the wires, I didn't know there was a secondary lock. Thanks again! |
