Just got my M2 forks back on today, after putting Race Tech compression gold valves in. I also put in 0.95 kg/mm springs (stock is 0.77 I think). While the compression seems fine, the rebound seems WAY too light, even with the adjuster all the way in. RT doesn't sell a rebound kit for the M2, so I'm not sure what to do, other than maybe run thicker oil. Has anyone else ran into this? Ben | ||

I had gold valves put in my forks by Traxxion Dynamics. I don't know what oil they used but mine seem perfect. Sorry I don't have the solution but I'm sure someone will. I would try thicker oil first. | ||

yes, thicker oil will slow down the rebound, but it will also stiffen up the compression. The compression is set for the springs, so I'm not sure if I want to go in that direction. I guess I should really re-valve the rebound stack, something I was trying to avoid since RaceTech doesn't make a kit for M2 forks. I don't know enough (okay, anything) about setting shim stacks to attempt that on my own. | ||

What makes you think you need more rebound? I would call Traxxion or GMD Computrack, or look on here for a sponsor that is a susp. tuner. You could also post this in the racer section. | ||

The rebound worked perfect on my bike after the goldvalve, but I had to do some some fiddling with things, I had the oil level set at the stock factory spec, which is incorrect, you need to go by the racetech spec, this could(?) be your problem. It is also possible to go with heavier oil if in the end you really must have more rebound, and you can re-stack the shims in the valve to compensate for the compression increase from the heavier oil, racetech will be able to set you up. |
