Ive been looking at adding a cold air intake on my 01 x1. Whats the difference between the hypercharger and a cold air induction system? Which way should i go and which sponsor sells the cold air intakes ive seen some on ebay for around 300 but would rather spend my money here. |

I have the force and like it. I haven't seen a bike that had a hyper on it that ran better than stock. Here comes the debate team... |

shhhhh dont bash the hypercharger...SLEEZ is... umm... how do i say this.. sensitive about this thing. haha. to quote sleez. "its all in the setup." did i get it right. if looks and performance are important. go with what you like. cause you can make anything work... BUT CAN YOU MAKE IT WORK WELL. my verbal spew for the night. |

here we go, so many people here really dislike the hypercharger. i like them, myself. just make sure you get a PRO. it has a taller filter and breathes much better. IMHO as long as it is set up properly, and you like the style, it works fine. the knee room is questionable, mine hits it sometimes and i'm 5'11", with the S3. if you have rearsets it won't be an issue. more people like the forcewinder or it's copycat types. the race ham can works very well and have it on 2 of mine. in my opinion, if you choose the one you like the looks of, and set it up properly, you will be happy. unless of course you NEED to have the most expensive, or highest dyno numbers to make you feel whole. me and Sleez tried to have a convo bout this... i think we just agreed to disagree. from what I'VE witnessed the hyper chargers are just for looks, which they pull off well, like a top fuel dragster sideways! but i've seen the dyno numbers... needless to say the force winder style intakes make a bigger difference. just my .02 |

we did have a convo, and we do disagree, it is ok though, i don't agree with everyone, and they don't agree with me. it's all good! i will post the dyno numbers from Battle2win when i get my hands back on my copies! just like some people swear by certain exhausts, some people swear by certain intakes. they all seem to work within a few percentage points of each other, so choose the one you like, and can afford. that's what my grandpappy always said!!! lol FWIW, i rarely bash anything, even if i don't like it. unless i have PROOF that it doesn't work as advertised. |

Sorry i didnt intend to start any drama with the post, i have been doing some searching of the site and trying to figure out witch way to go. Im pretty much stupid when it comes to working on bikes so i need to keep it simple so i think the cold air intake is the way to go since im not much on tuning these. Once i get one i will have it mapped and dynoed by someone. Can anyone point me to which sponser to talk to about one of these? |

I think the Hypercharger looks the stuff .....on an XB when it's sticking up through the airbox cover hot rod style. I had a forcewinder on the X-1 and loved it. The only complaint is a right side crash on back roads into the gravel can be 2 scoops a raisins in your engine. Thank God the Mrs. never took down on that side. My personal fav. are the TNT carbon filter that I have on the S-1 . They suck plenty of air and don't drown in the rain. And for us long-legged types it's got the best knee clearance.
Unfortunately I don't think you can get them anymore. |

That's the one I was thinking of. I didn't realize those were so reasonable. That TNT of mine is normally twice as much. After having one on backorder for three months a buddy said he has one that he didn't like, so score he sold it to me for the same price as the Airtech! |
