So i just got my new plastics. '97 style. the tank is like 1/8" to short. no big deal cause ive heard of them regaining size with gas back in them. is the mounting different between a 2000 and 1997. you know the plates with the teeth on them. |

I'm not sure, but hopefully we'll find out...I'm doing the same as you.. Did you get the plastics from that guy in Chicago on craigslist? (Message edited by brinnutz on February 26, 2009) |

AFAIK the plates with the teeth were a recall/bulletin for the older bikes and stock on the newer ones. |

nope i got them from a company called dirty hands choppers. they are in great condition. they turned the bike into a nice little pro streeter. the plates stick out a little too much off the tank. i dont know if it will. interfere with the seat or not. my seat will be here today. |

I put a 98 skinny tank on my M2 with S1 seat, I had to use the small plate without the teeth on mine cause the seat wouldn't clear the bolt and plate with it, it stuck up to high. No problem with the tank moving tho. (Message edited by mick on February 26, 2009) (Message edited by mick on February 26, 2009) |
