YEOOOOOOWWWWW! THAT CAME OUTA THE OIL TANK! Yes thank the fates! That was part of the mounting? Limited The GrenadePlate is an extra plate, check above. I don't know about the barnet kit Call them is all I can suggest, My bike has been to the drag strip for some abuse and the stock stuff worked ok, I have been in the clutch since and all was well. Hey no need to start calling names! Hey I'm the resident geek / "Automation Designer" |

Flushed out the removed tank tonight and strained this discharge through a coffee filter in a funnel. Nothing but tiny bits of caked grease-like gunk. Ran sediment through finger tips and found zero grit. Peered in tank with minimag flashlight and alls clear. Somebody up there likes me. Yeh, the how of a partial piece getting in there eludes me. Factory-installed worker's grudge? If I didn't say it before, you folks are the best. Thanks for all your help and encouragement. |

The oil pump gear can be tightened and loosened by locking the clutch side, yes? |

As for the oil pump installation, I'm wondering about priming the oil pump. The Service Manual says to loosen feed hose and start engine. Operate at idle to allow 2 oz. oil to flow out and then tighten hose connection. A goodly amount of oil came out of pump when I removed it and turned it upside down. Can/should I try to slowly pour oil into it to partially fill it before installing? Will gravity-feed from oil tank fill it once it's installed? While bike is up on jackstands, should I manually rotate rear tire to cause geartrain movement to prime the pump? |

The oil pump gear can be tightened and loosened by locking the clutch side, yes? It would be a pit of a pita as you want tension on the chain drive to keep the bar from falling out. |

Bike is all back together and I’m thinking of cranking engine to get oil pumped through entire system. I’d pull plugs, connect them to plug wires and ground plugs to cylinders. I’d prefer not to have fuel injected into cylinders while cranking it over. Should I disconnect electrical connection from/to tank to prevent fuel flow? Any chance of causing problems by doing this? Anything I should be aware of? |
