Anyone here use these on your tuber? I am looking at the price difference between these and the CRG bar end mirrors, but I can't imagine a bicycle mirror performing too well on a motorcycle.Experience? (Message edited by capital_g on January 05, 2009) |

On the 1125 board, several folks have put them on CRs. Zack |

I've used 'em on both an M2 & X1. They worked fine, and they're hard to beat for the price. |

I've used them on an x1 and s1w. They work very well for the price~!! And I like the minimal look. |

Thanks all - Kalali - 3rd eye's are inexpensive bar end mirrors designed for bicycles. Search w/google tons of pics and places to buy. G |

I dont like how they make the bars even wider. I ride through some tight fit entryways to private roads and i find them to get in the way |

Barry, Great looking Sportster! Tell us about it. What year, what kind of rearsets, etc. Truly a Sportster a Buell rider could appreciate! Thanks, Dave |

Used the 3rd eye for quite a few years on my S1W. I only had one on the throttle side. I rode alot in NYC, and while lane splitting, i hit a taxi cab with the mirror, and it got ripped off. I would have been pissed if it where a Billet piece costing a $100, but i kept on going. Crazy thing is, that was like 3 years ago, and i still havn't replaced the mirror! I just keep looking around all the time. Makes you more alert. |

Mikeyp - I have logged 8-10 miles without mirrors and it drove me crazy!! My worst fear on a bike is sitting at a red light or stop sign and being rear ended by a car. If I can see the }car approaching me while I am stopped I figure I will have a sporting chance. |

I've had these mountain bike mirrors on X for a few years now. Yes, they stick out about three inches each side, but I've taken about 1/2" or more off each end of the bars to compensate a little. You get used to the extra width pretty quick, and I got used to looking a little downwards to see the mirrors. These mirrors fold backwards, so if I touch a car they just fold. They do give a great view, no shoulders or anything. Two problems I did have - first, the hinges weren't strong enough to hold the mirrors in position above 120km/h, so I had to file the centre pins so the screws held them a bit tighter. Secondly, they are very light and they shake and vibrate more than standard mirrors at certain rpm's, the worst around 2500rpm to memory. I keep meaning to glue some sinkers to the outside edges to see if it helps. |

Capitol, I usually sit side saddle at a light so i can see what's coming up behind me. Once a car is stopped , i focus back on what's in front. I have a weird way of riding, Urban Commando style is what i like to call it. Jim, buddy! Life is good my friend. If your holidays were like mine, then you'd be getting a new Ducati 1198s in Febuary! I put an order on one back in November, and i get the first one to hit NJ, (or that's what the dealer tells me). Funny you should mention Henrik, i was looking through my phone today, and i came across his number. I really should call him up. The NY IMS show is coming up. Maybe i could drag him out for old times sake. Speaking of old times sake, i'm glad there are some old timers like you and me still posting on here. Sorry to hijack the thread boys. I had to catch up. |

My Sportster is a 99 XL1200S model. I've had it since it was new, currently at 85K miles. I did a top end last spring after I cross threaded a spark plug in the rear head. I run a Supertrapp exhaust, engine is stock except for the jetting and Screaming Eagle air cleaner. Rear sets are from Storz, handlebars are "low cafe" bars from Flanders. The mirrors are from a bicycle store in San Jose. The front and rear fenders have been cut back a little, with a Lucas taillight replacing the stock item. The seat is a Corbin Gunfighter. I powdercoated a lot of parts, and added a Brembo front brake replacing the stock dual disks.

+1 on the bicycle mirrors. I think mine was $7 It does shake a bit while riding but I always turn my head anyway. |
