Firemanjim, Can you be a little more specific about the details specs for your engine setup. Thinking about a little upgrade for this winter. Any graphs available from the power delivery?. |

It was suppose to get into the 60s today but never did. I replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets (leaking) and took her around the block and she was running so good I decided to putt around some areas I do not get too much and ran across this bridge. It was the only pic I took. When I got home it was 33 degrees. I should have taken my heated gear so I could have stayed out longer.

Ross was here on Monday. Was complainng about bad vibrations. Turns out his right swingarm isolator was completely gone! Luckily I had a few used ones laying around and being an S2 we were able to get him back on the road vibration free in about 30 minutes!! |

Dan, I heard from Ross and he had troubles down the road. He broke a header and the shock started pogo-sticking on him. I hope he made it home ok. Frank |

Howdy! I did have problems, but the good news is that it wasn't too big of an issue. I don't know when the shock failed, but I'm not too worried about it as it still rides for now, even if quite sloppy. A friend of mine welded the exhaust back together for me today, so the bike's running healthy again. However, after thinking about the constant wear and tear that these bikes get (especially with me piloting), the amount of maintenence required, and other things, I just don't feel right selling the bike to my friend Daniel, so I'm probably going to part out most of the bike in the near future and keep the frame and title for next year's project I keep talking about. |

Number 35 is alive! Got her started tonight, I did not ride her but glad I didn't because I forgot to bleed the front brakes, details, details. I still need to find a body/paint shop to have the body work done, no matter how good she looks naked!

I am hoping to have my S2 brought back to life in the next couple of weeks. Just doing a 100 hp 1250 kit for now and will slowly build the 90" motor on the side for it. |

Pete, unless he's changed his mind since I was at his house Sunday, he's looking to have the bodywork repainted to its original glory in Ice White Pearl. |

Got lucky coming getting this in August. I told myself I wouldn't start on it until after school ended, which wrapped up on Wednesday. Now I feel a little like the dog that caught the car! I'll probably be looking for some insight, Frank.

Mark, I do not think I have ever seen such a great example of a 95 Yellow Jacket Pearl S2. The XL looks great as well. I am glad you found the site and sent me your info. Frank |

I made a little progress on number 35 today. Bleed front brakes and started to put body work back on. I still need to do some work to the tail section and it will have to wait until I return from a biz trip. Frank

Thanks Joe, the paint did not come out as well as I would have liked it to but you get what you pay for. Next time I will learn to do it myself. She is coming together well. I have some work to do to the tail section and need to replace the clutch cover gasket and some other minor things that I cannot think of right now. Frank |

Matt, not this time. I did not like the way the paint turned out but you get what you pay for. The more I think about it the more I think I am going to learn how to paint. There is a tech college in my area and I might take a few classes. I will buff it and try to get it right once I get the bike back together. It does look a lot better than it did. I might take the S1W down to the frame and have the frame powder coasted like I should have done the first time. You need to get a S2 in your collection Matt.... |

Don, she looks great. Could you comment on the bracket/running light setup with some up close pics. I was looking at doing something similar with the 96 S2T. Thanks, Frank |

Frank, I posted a short blurb about the prototypes in the KV . . .http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/421827.html?1229255108 I have some additional t-bar clamps on order that I hope will allow me to attach the brackets higher up on the fork tube taper . . .closer to the front fairing. The clamps are the only variable to be explored for now . . .although I have been thinking of building a set that would work with larger lights by using a longer section of 1/4 inch aluminum angle. Let me know if you have questions or comments . . . (Message edited by doncasto on December 14, 2008) |
