I added two columns for wheel type/color and options. The info is as follows: VIN (last 4) Build Date (Month and Year) Your Name Your BadWeb ID Frame Color Body Color Wheel Type and Color Options Location Comments email (this will not be posted) Full VIN(this will not be posted) Thanks to everyone that has sent in your info. As always either post the info here or send directly to me at f_skinner@yahoo.com. I will try to keep on it since starting one of these list is always the hard part (although a lot easier than the S2 list). I will be on business in VA next week but expect to have access to the Internet so it may take a couple of days to respond. Frank

Joe, I will be near Norfolk (Suffolk actually). Fly in Monday (still making reservations and leave Friday) I am trying to work on going to NC on Friday and come back to CO on Sunday or Monday. I will know more when I get off my a$$ and do the travel request. |

Ah, stinkytown (friend of mine went to school in "naw-f**k", that place *always* smells funny, lol). Still...only about 4 hours away...I'm ...well, forget that, you know where I am, you bought your S1 here years ago. Duh. |

I think your shop may have changed location since 97. I do not know if I will make it there or not Joe. I need to get back to J'ville NC to visit with family. I had planned for Lynn and I to fly to Jville NC in Mar and rent a Bagger to ride out to MBVI but I do not know if that is going to happen with my pending unemployment on the horizon. 20 years as a SIGINT Analyst, 5 years as a 1st Sgt, 6 years in Computer Network Operations, TS SCI Clearance, Grad degree and the only thing I can find so far is a part time teaching job. Of course this might be a good opportunity to get away from it all. |

That's true, sometimes it's nice to "not know"...I sympathize. Kim just got a job as a contract specialist at NCI, I can ask her to keep an ear out for other open positions (out your way, obviously - doubt you'd want to come back to this area, not that I can blame you!). Our dealer has moved since '97. A whole three blocks, lol. And if it helps, come on out for MB and fly into/out of BWI. Mi Uly es su Uly if you need it I'd offer the S2, but it's really drinking oil for some reason (no smoke, clean plugs, primary level fine, no drips...just going away somehow), and I'd hate to have someone else in the seat if something went wrong... |

ok, i figured out how to open these now, pretty easy, my machine saves them as a file with a an extension of; .xls.xla, all i have to do is delete the .xla part and it opens fine! F_skinner, thanks, the tab at the bottom still says "S2" how can there be such large VIN numbers before my build date? did they randomly assign VIN numbers? if so, then low numbers don't really mean anything???? |

Sleez, thanks for catching that... That is what happens when you steal from other spreadsheets... My guess is they started producing the S1W long before the 1998 sales year. I am thinking they probably start tooling up way before the actual sales start and probably when they release the new models in the summer before. Kind of like when the 2009 cars (and bikes) are released in the summer of 2008. You can bet they are already building them. Frank |

Sent private message with my info on mine. I'll get back to you with build date. It's gonna be a project since the front head mount is cracked. Already got the new heads. Need the upgraded bracket that NRHS makes. My engine guy wants to cut the pistons and put an aero charger on. Not sure if I wanna go that far. Still kicking the idea around though. It's sat for 7 years or so. My friend bought it never titled it and rode it like 5 times. He got married about a year and a half ago. I told him "when she makes you sell it I'll give you fair money for it." He swore he'd never sell it. Well couple months ago I gave him cash for it. She was jumping up and down and he looked broken. Moral is don't get married if you wanna keep your toys. |

Vdubfro, you should have seen the look on mine GFs face when I brought home my S1W. Or I should say, the boxes that held my S1W. I got you email and added you to the list, when you get your build date drop me a line. Frank |

Frank, what about adding a column for engine serial numbers? I'd be curious to know how many retain the correct engine. |

That is a good idea and will list it if it is provided. I can throw it in the comments section. I try to record all information that is provided. I must say I am real pleased how the list is coming along and the info that has been provided. While there are not a lot of people on it so far it will grow. I rather have it grow steady and slow over time than burn out early. Frank |

Frank, what about adding a column for engine serial numbers? Not a bad idea and don't think that mismatched serial numbers necessarily indicate a motor change. There were some difficulties getting some systems squared away until 1313 made a nifty little device to resolve some issues. |

Thanks, I was unaware that they could be mismatched. I will add a column for the engine number. Guess I have to go find mine now. Court, I sent you an email last night on a S2 problem I am having concerning build dates. |

I've got it and it's queued with about 59 other Buell related issues pending my last final and submission of my Masters Thesis. I'm still trying to turn customer service issues in 12 hours but the information stuff is more likely to be responded to en-masse over the holidays. My apologies. |

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. First off, this is a excelent idea. I've been wondering how many S1W's are still left. I'll be sending you the info on my bike in a little while. Just a suggestion: Is it possible to correlate the list by the the last four digits of the Vin# instead of when the owners posted up the info? This way, as owners post up, we could "fill in the gaps" so to speak. |
