I have a Penske that came with my used M2.
The adjustments were all wrong for my weight and/or riding style. Took a long time to figure out/improve them.
I would guess one would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the Works and the Penske, if they were both well-sorted out for the bike/rider combo. Once you get them adjusted right, most likely how easily they adjust becomes moot.
If money is short, go with the Works, but get all the adjustability you can afford you will not regret that.

I would use an AST, a Dutch company, excellant service, price and product.
Just my 50 euros worth

Can't say from any experience, but my suspension guy (at GMD Computrack Boston) says to stay away from the Works shocks. Being that he has been doing this for about 25years, I figure there must be some reasoning behind this. I have a Penske on order. I could have gotten a Works at dealer cost, but I trust the guru's advise.

Radon - I got mine from a private party in Omaha. It was listed on Craigslist on a Monday night, I looked at it Tuesday, and by Wednesday my name was on the title

Can't remember the guy's name, but it was purchased new from Frontier HD in Lincoln.

I didn't even know there was a dealer in CB. I used Dillon Brothers in Omaha.

Firstbuell, I think Guell is talking about the original WP suspension shock that came on the S2s and S1s before the recalls.

i have a question: just put on my S1 a Works, top of the line fully adjustable.
my bike originally had the 16.5" eye to eye shock, i bought this Works used on ebay, it was a 14.8" but it came out of an S1.
so i had just to change the bracket on my bike and the shock fitted perfectly.
but today i went to sit on my bike for the first time and i realized that the bike is much lower than before!
the Works doesn't have adjustable riding position though, so is there any way i can make this bike as before?

You could talk to someone like Matt (Malott442) and commision them to make a new front mount for you.

Is it too low sitting static, or is it too low once you put your weight on it? You may just need to adjust the preload to keep it from sagging too much with rider weight.

See if this helps:

i will adjust the preload, but still the bike lowered compared as it was before with the stock shock.
it might not be a problem for me, i'm just saying it looks weird and different...
i'll try later today what my impressions are.
