The plastic piece on the gas cap of my 2000 m2 is stripped out and is hard to remove and insatll...where can i find a new one?

If, by "hard to remove and install", you mean hard to take the cap off and put it back on...just file it down. Mine (and many others', there are posts here about it) swelled up and had to be filed.

If you draw an imaginary circle around the outside of the plastic part (looking at the inside of the cap), I had to make a smaller circle out of mine. Filed down the "round side" with a hand file for a little bit, and fits perfect (and works as intended) now. That's on both my S2 and my S1W. Just don't nick that O-ring...

My X1 did the same thing. The plastic stripped where it was bolted to the cap. I wound up buying a new cap from my dealer.

Search for gas caps.

I posted a link to a DIY (to a website I can't find) to JB Weld the cap top so it works again.

I think you can search my posts and then find the ones about gas caps.
