Get a fiberglass dry cell battery. They don't sell them at the harley shop. I got mine from batteries plus for $114.00. My old battery cracked and leaked battery acid and I had to replace the battery box. |

What is nice about my 1997 S3T is it uses a SPORTSTER BATTERY which are easy to find if you do not want to use a HARLEY-DAVIDSON SPORTSTER battery ... Any battery equivalent to the OEM one will work ... |

Use a glass matte battery. The Buells are not set up for wet cell batteries as the mounting is not level (especially on the X1's)Do yourself a favor......don't cheap out here. |

RE: not cheaping out your question's been covered many times b4 in similar threads in my M2 experience [50k+ miles], top-o-the-line Yuasas cost the same [or more] than Gen-u-ine Buell units & don't last as long be forewarned, all - Sporty batteries have their terminals in opposite locations..... |
