I got this after market k and n intake. The billet round one, And my question is the breather lines route up and into the intake and feed the vapors and whatever PUKE! comes out of there right back to the motor. So should i change the way this is breathing. Maybe a catch can, I did notice that i need more oil than normal with this intake. I think it is sucking the vapors and burning extra oil because of this! | ||

Do your engine a favor and run the breather hoses into a catch container ... Plug the breather hole/holes in air cleaner ... | ||

Do an XB rocker cover swap! I just did one to my X1 for about 130ish in parts and shipping AND about 2-3 hrs in the garage. I still route to hoses to my intake and the amount of crud that get through is WAY down... like... almost nothing! but your results may vary... Nick | ||

I run a very long hose that follows the swingarm and exits at about the rear axle area. Does the engine suck that breather vapor back in? | ||

Did the conversion a couple of years ago on my X-1, and am most pleased with the results. Easy job to do. Ran the hose back and down, just above the sidestand pivot. Planning a catch can install this winter. Silas: Folks express concern about that from time to time, but if the PCV valves are working as they should, they close anytime there is negative press in the crankcase, so there should not be any vapor being sucked in. And w/about 3ft of hose with an inside wall coated w/oil and water mix, any contaminants would be trapped by that. Remember the oil bath air cleaners cars came with in the '50s? This info and opinion are worth exactly what you paid for it. LOL. Ride safe, have fun, Dave. | ||

Those umbrella valves do not last very long before the head heat stops them from working ... As soon as the BLAST came out "i" put BLAST PVC valves in the rocker covers on my engine ... When the XB's came out a lot of BwB'ers put XB rocker covers on ... | ||
