I currently ride a honda cb750 and have been wanting to sell it and get an xb. I got an offer to trade for a 2000 m2 cyclone. I really want an xb but am thinking about getting the cyclone and riding till spring or summer and trading in for an xb. What do you guys think I should do, keep trying to sell my bike so I can go straight to an xb or just get the cyclone? |

It would be a shame to miss an opportunity to own a tuber. Go for the M2, get the XB later, if it becomes necessary. Both is best! Rotaruck! |

You will get very little trade in value for the Tuber. Either keep it or sell it to someone here. I love mine! |

I too was looking for an XB when shopping for my 1st Buell. The Lightning XB is what attracted me to Buells in the first place but I found an 02 Cyclone for 1/2 the price and decided to "settle". Boy was I mistaken. Ive test driven XBs since and although I still like a lot of things about the XBs they lack "something" my M2 has. I'm craving something with more wind protection and hard bags but Im keeping the M2 for many more years...I love it. |

Xb's will be here for awhile whereas M2's will end up chopped, and the few remaining, at a later date, might pull in more cash from the tuber fiends...Look up some pics here of the unique customized M2's and know it will become more then a one night stand bike... |

My personal favorite is just what I have, a 98 M2. It has an S&S aircleaner, works performance shock V&H can and jet kit with later 2000 thunderstorm heads. I like the looks better than anything buell has made so far, also recently put on a 2000 swingarm, not in the pic.

I got an offer to trade for a 2000 m2 cyclone. I really want an xb but am thinking about getting the cyclone and riding till spring or summer and trading in for an xb. How many miles are on the M2, was it ever laid down? At around 15k miles an 00 will be due for some updates, exhaust hanger, possibly chain tensioner, possibly rocker gaskets, possibly intake seals, possibly isolator(s), possibly drive belt, less likely but possibly opd gear and even possibly cams... Might be a little much to undertake if you're just looking for some short-term wheels. Especially if it needs the basics like tires and a new battery. On the other hand if it's got under 6k miles you could get in, ride it, and get out relatively painlessly. Or decide that you like it and begin the labor of love.... |
