What have been your top speeds on a Buell Tuber? In 06, on Highway 111 heading west, just leaving Palm Springs, in a full tight tuck, and I mean the tuck was so tight that I think I was turning to the paint job, I reached what read 140 MPH on my M2 cyclone with fresh Thunderstorm Heads, carb work and exhaust work, all with stock size BT 14 Bridgestone's. Ya think the spedo was lying, I mean it seemed fast, fast, fast. As soon as I hit top for about 15 seconds I slowed back down for my friends to catch up and cruised it back home. |

Speedo seems to register a little fast to me. that being said, I did 130 bone stock a few years back. |

I think thats reasonable, and I'm suspicious of the spedo reading as well, but my friend with a Vrod couldn't keep up past 120-125 or so, I left him behind, it makes you wonder. But heres the thing, it may have been correct, because I believe where I was doing this burst, is I believe below sea level (Message edited by gohot on October 08, 2008) |

135 I believe, but my buddy on his GSXR said I was running abou 143-145. That's at 6700RPM, no more throttle. Then my exhaust cracked, for the fourth time this year. |

Had mine up to one and a quarter on the interstate once, only got it up to one-twenty or so on the track though. They are supposed to be good for 135 or so in stock condition if memory serves me correctly. One of the magazines used to have a "hard numbers" section in the back, Cycle World or Motorcyclist... probably read it there, I don't think I read that in Buell documentation. -Mike |

A stock M2 will top out at about 134 1/2 all the way into the rev limiter on a dyno. That's what mine did before hitting the "Great White Dyno" in 2003. Since the X1 is geared the same, it should be in that neighborhood too. Most speedo's are a bit optimistic on the top end. YMMV Brad |

w/ the euro gearing top speed is much higher, 100mph is cruising speed on 5th gear. I drop into 5th at about 85mph. |

If you want even higher gearing, put on a XB12 motor sprocket and primary chain ... |

I maxed my m2 out at 138 on the spedo. The TomTom siad 134. My bike was completly stock then. Since then I have put racing exhaust on with a forcewinder intake and had the carb redone. I don't think it's faster it just gets up to top speed faster. I can ride weelies alot better though LOL!! |

120 on the '95 S2, with only NRHS Hurricane flow and D&D slip-on, 130 on the '03 XL1200S, with S/E 6800 rpm ignition, S/E plugs and wires, modified stock backing plate on A/C, White Bros 2-1 exhaust, and inverted clubman bars. |
