I figured out the TPS reset with no problems but the AFV is still a little gray to me. Should the bike be warmed up and if so what is a good engine temp to set this setting at. Should the bike be running or off when you set this setting? I may be doing a TPS reset later this week and thought I might do the AFV at the same time. Let me know how it is done right guys. |

It won't matter whether the bike is warmed up or not. The ECM "remembers" the AFV value that it last calculated. 100% runs right off of the fuel maps, 105% would add 5% to all fuel map values, 95% would take away 5% from the fuel maps, etc. If you TPS value had drifted off a bit then the AFV tries to compensate. So when you reset the TPS it is a good idea th reset the AFV so that the ECM gets a "fresh start" at adjusting the air/fuel ratio for the current conditions in your part of the world. |

I see. In watching my plugs the bike looks just a touch lean to me. That is why I was asking. I didn't think it had to be warmed up or anything. I will look at the value it currently has in there and see where it is at. I just loaded the race ECM program a short time back but that isn't the source of the problem as the plugs looked the same before the ECM change if not a little worse. I actually think the ECM change helped but I still see a small amount of white on the rear plug I will pull both look them over and start tinkering from there. |

The O2 sensor is way more accurate than your spark plugs. Learn to trust the sensors, and use them to guide your mapping changes. A wide-band o2 sensor with it's requisite software is an excellent tuning aid. |
