That would be the race muffler from the1999 and newer tubers. The exhaust ports are 2.5" on those models. you need a race header to match, not sure if the stock header reaches that far. |

Stock header does not reach that far. There was an elbow made for those, but I don't know where/how to get it or the part number. |

No elbow, the race header wraps around the motor and down under. It has longer runners than a stock header. |

Bluz, there was an elbow, Brett has one on his X1 that goes from his stock header to his pro series can |

Both are correct. Race header wrapped around, but there's an elbow made for adaptation to stock headers. |

These parts are obsolete you can get the last on earth stainless steel pipe on earth that i know of at ironmachine.com but they do not have the elbow i asked you ll need to take it to a harley dealer to have on fabricated for 200.00 bucks no thanks, ill use the d and d full system its just a little better than the race system. but its exspensive 616.-650. |

Aluminum? Never seen an aluminum one before. Looks like one of the rear mounts was ripped out. |

It's the original race muffler made for the Buell Race Kit. Nope, not aluminum. It's stainless. You'll either need a race header with it or fabricate an elbow for it. Yep, rear mount is also shattered. (Message edited by sloppy on September 16, 2008) |

All of the factory race kit mufflers are stainless. How are you checking to see if it's aluminum? |

Sounds like you know your mat'l. Just wanted to make sure you weren't using a magnet to test it. Perhaps someone custom made an aluminum muffler modeled after the race can? |

I want to put some compression fitting in place of the stock crank case breathers. Does anyone know what the thread size is? |

If you'd like some dented race headers to go with the dented can, I have a set from my M2 just collecting dust in my garage. I have an even more dented race can too, if you want to pull the mount off it. The can mount was welded to the bike bracket, though, so I always had to take the whole bracket off to remove the muffler. |

Every tuber race muffler I've had or seen has been aluminum...although I'll have to get back to work to read the original catalogs in my desk. I think they mention the (aluminum) construction. *OEM* tuber mufflers, at least for the S1W, were stainless. The earlier black painted tuber OEM mufflers were mild steel. |

My tuber race muffler is stainless steel. I still have it in the box it came in. I never used it with the race header. |
