I hate these guys they are the worst ever. So i went into harley davidson to get a l.e.d brake light. I called ahead to make sure they had what i wanted, And was treated like crap when i got there, The guy says i dont have those and i dont know who told you we do! and he goes what year is your bike and i said 01. and what kind of bike and i said buell and he says oh i dont have anything for that bike and i replied um yeah the bulb is the same as the softail or any other harley and hes like no it has a different diameter and it would not even fit and its not a 1157 socket........What a prick. and as i leaned in to look at the bulb he blocked my view like i was going to walk behind the counter, And he didnt even bother offering to special order the part for me. I HATE THESES JERKS UNFRIENDLY A$%@#!$ THIS DEALER IS IN UTAH THE SALT LAKE CITY ONE 2800 SO. STATE ST. I called the manager and told him how i was treated and i ripped him up one side and down the other and said im gonna tell all the buell guys i know about your dealership and HOW PISS POOR HIS SERVICE THERE WAS. SO STAY AWAY FROM THESE IDIOTS!!!!!!  | ||

Pierce HD in Illinois is the same way. They were trying to tell me a sportster oil filter would not fit my X1. So when I rode in with my brand new FatBoy they were like where did you buy it. At the OTHER HD dealer because you had given me a piss poor attitude with my other bike. The sales manager was pissed! I only go to HD/Buell dealers now. This sucks cause the nearest on is like 40miles away. | ||

We have a great Buell dealer right here in the People's Republic of NJ. Liberty HD/Buell in Rahway. They can order whatever you want if they don't have it. I have had the same experience with some other HD dealers and have learned no to walk in and ask for Buell parts with any higher expectations than if I had asked for Piper parts. | ||

So, did you get the bulb? I got my LED at the Auto Zone down the street, fits the 1157, had it for a couple of years now. Unfortunately these stories are becoming the norm. My local place (40 miles also) had already lost my service business years ago but Labor Day lost all my parts business as well. I'll only do business with this boards sponsors from now on for things that have to come directly from Buell/HD. | ||

I have the same story here too, Why in God's name don't they have the same part numbers for the parts that are the same, I go into the HD shop here in so. cal. and tell them I need a sportster part and they are great and then tell them it's for a Buell and they proceed to give me a load of S--T! Where can we mail order stock Buell parts? | ||

"i" know what you mean, as "i" was told at the 25th Anniversary that BUELL Riders could not see the new museum until the HOG Riders had seen it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dam good Idea.. Man i swear im gonna open my own shop and only work on buells and if a harley fag comes in im gonna treat him like they do to us! Hhhmmm i run an auto shop. A bike shop would be easier and id get all the business i needed as hd dealers really suck and they would lose all the buell business to my shop! Listen to this i know a guy here in salt lake city and his good friend is a harley mechanic out at the south valley store and he said to his friend i dont work on buells, he wont even work on his friends bike!!!!! That is so WEAK. So i told him i would come fix it sunday for him on my day off since he hasnt been able to ride it since 08-29-08 lame. This is what im talking about its his own friend and he wont help, some friend he is. I really think fuel injection freaks harley out and its a threat to there purist ideals of naturally aspirated engines. bastards. sorry about language I dont know much about fuel injection, but i fixed my own bike with the help of this forum and ecm spy. cmon help a guy out harley !! | ||

What they should do is franchise out Buell only shops. Wouldn't require as much room as a Harley dealer. That way they aren't forcing the Harley dealer to carry Buell and subsequently causing assholeitis and one pissed off Bueller. Have all Buells in there, equipment, apparel, all the cool stuff you see on the website. Which I've tried to go in and order stuff from the website, they say they can't get it because it isn't the same part numbers as Harley numbers....What the #$%&? Buell only please Willie G! | ||

Willie G is the head of styling, and does not have any say, or sway, in the determination of new dealers (and zero interaction with Buell if I understand things correctly). You can call the Motor Company directly and request that department. I'm not sure about new Buell dealers, but I have heard that the fee to JUST submit an application for an HD dealer is in the 6-to-7 digit($) range. | ||

One Buell is sold for every 50 hogs or sportys. Thats why we get the rotten response and the crappy service, we don't count to them...and half of our bike is japanese! But isn't that what makes us special? | ||

This is Buell's biggest problem -- they NEED to fix their Dealer network. It truely is extremely bad. Eric, you listening??? I would buy another Buell, except that the dealership by me is no longer a Buell dealer because of the difficutly they had in dealing with Corporate Buell / HD. | ||

Ha....I got a good one....at the beginning of the season I went to my local HD/Buell dealer with my free "neck gaitor" coupon to see if I could get one, the sales fag tells me they only got 6 in and they gave them away with new bike sales, and begins to pull out his 6 sales folders like they were war medals or something...what an ass. Nothing like corporate trying to do something to bring in floor traffic and promote the product and the fat salesmen turning it into a negative. Havent been back there since. Drove 30 min. to the competition and got the gaitor. Guess who gets the business now. 2yrs ago in the middle of January, 20deg outside, 2" of snow on the ground I went into local HD dealer ready to buy a Night Train they had on the floor that day. I stood around looking at it for 30 min, I was one of maybe 3 customers in this huge store with probably 12 employees on duty not one person said Hi, Hello , Can I help you, nothing. That soured me so much on harley that I'll probably never buy one now. Unbelievable, you walk into a car dealer and like 3 of them bum rush you at the door. It's lucky harley has a heritage and they pretty much sell themselves or I'm sure they'd be out of business. | ||

I'd think that's pessimistic: 2007 HD Domestic Production=241,539 2007 HD production overall, total=330,619 Ditto Buell, total=11,513 Domestically, 11513/241,539=A bit over 4.7% Internationally, 11513/330619=A little over 3.4% 1/50=2% So, Buell still does better overall, here. I've heard they outsell HD's in Australia. We'll see how '08 stack up. | ||

If you're angry, go for a ride. You'll feel better. We should let each other know who the good dealers are. The guys at Cerini HD/Buell in Belle Vernon, PA have always treated me great, even though I bought my bike used from the want ads. Because they treated me so good, my son bought a new XB from them. Adam at the parts counter has remembered my name since my first order was placed. I will continue to vote with my dollars. I spend a couple hundred there a year, just on oil and maintenance items. I drive past another HD dealer on my way home every day, but will not stop there because some pimple faced wanabe biker at the parts counter told me the Sportster oil filter wouldn't fit my X1. Like I said, go for a ride. You'll feel better. | ||

I was talking to my local Ducati/KTM/Aprilia/MV Agusta/Suzuki dealer, and he wants to sell Buells, but HD won't let him. Real nice place too, Buells would look great in there, AND they sell real riding gear at good prices. | ||

My local dealer is ok. I only try to deal with one certain parts guy. He is the only one that seems to understand how to do buisiness. He gets the parts book out, and we both look over it so he can make sure its the right part that im ordering. The other parts people are twunts. | ||

My good Buell dealer is much better then my Kawasaki or Yamaha dealer. My "bad" local Buell dealer is about on par with the Kawasaki shop, and still better then the Yamaha shop. Good thing, in this age of the internet and cheap fast shipping, that I can call any good Buell dealer in the nation and get great service at any time right to my doorstep. | ||

That is the nice thing about "TUBE FRAMES" ... If you know what "RETRO-FITS" from the EVO SPORTSTER engines/platform you can just go to a Local HOG Dealer that knows just as much about BUELLs as some of the so called BUELL Sign Dealers ... "PLEASE" do not say BUELL to a HARLEY-DAVIDSON Parts Person as it STRESS's them out !!! | ||

I once went to a Harley dealer for exhaust manifold nuts, they told me they didn't have any for a Buell, so I asked for a set for my Sportster (that I didn't have), and walked out with a bag full. Morons. Then once in Toronto, I lost the primary gasket, and they told me they had to get one from Wisconsin. I told them to put in a Sportster gasket, and they asked me why I thought it would fit. My closest dealers are 13 miles, 28 miles and 50 miles. Go figure the farthest, Gainesville H-D/Buell, is the GOOD Buell Dealer!! | ||

Thanks to all here @ bad web you all helped me fix my bike and i spent 0 dollars with hd dealers and i like that. I hate dealers. However I spent good money at americansportbike and now I only shop there unless i need it pronto! | ||

Hey, Give us Buell dealers a break. You came into the dealership PISSED> Told me that I have a LED Bulb for your Buell. I told you that I don't have one for you.. I only have a Amber one...And some "aftermarket" Bulbs are too Large... If you can turn the Amber bulb into a RED one Maybe you could fix the problem yourself.
