I need a part # for a S1W shock. What other tuber shocks are interchangeable. I am supposed to be buying a new one and need to know before I buy. Thanks for any help. |

Depending on the going rate for a new Showa you should just call or email Al at American Sport Bike. The "bargain" Works shock is worth every penny and not much more than the price, IIRC, of a new Showa while blowing it away in performance, plus it is rebuildable should it ever fail whereas the Showa is not. I went through two Showa shocks on the S2 before biting the bullet and getting the Works. Best money I ever spent on the bike (well, second best - the XB heads and stuff was well worth it too). |

The "other model" thing isn't really relevant, because they all supercede to the same one. It's the short shock (the new one from Buell will NOT include the forward bracket that you need). Stay away from this one, it's recalled also, just like the exposed-spring units. You'll notice the short one has VERY beefy ends, not the long skinny end and weld-breaking-sumbitch end. Stay away!! || \/

Bully, they seem hard to find, but they aren't quite as bad as most people seem to believe. Or maybe I just don't ride to that level... \imagelink2 {http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/clipart/winker.gif,; )} The Showa's are also rebuildable, you can do it yourself but I found a guy that rebuilds them. EPM Performance Imports in New Jersey. Charges less than $200.00 so when the riding season is over mine's going in for a freshening. 25,000 miles and any shock will need rebuilding. I believe he will set the spring for different weights and riding styles, ask about that. Good luck, Edit: just noted you're looking for the new shock, the dealer should have the part #...
