Do the larger tankbags, like the Wolfman Explorer, obscure vision on the speedo? I have to drive my M2 from Pittsburgh to Norfolk for a required military sportsbike class, and think that I will just make a week long camp trip out of it with a stop off in Charleston. I will need to outfit myself with some luggage for it; decided on the revpack tourpack, and I figured out how to make a ventura-like system with galvanized steel piping and a welder, but I'm still trying to figure out a tank bag that I can wire up. Haha, sure do. It's every 3 years for the military sports bike rider course, every 5 years for the cruiser course, and you have to have a certified civilian course every 3 years as well. As far as the homemade mounts, sure thing; drew them up on AutoCad at work and found all the parts online; think I am going to fabricate it this or next weekend. I'll take pics through the whole process, and post measurements up. |

Hmm...Man, I might be interested, after the trial set, maybe make another set? It's almost not worth it to ride on base. LOL |

Sure thing; soon as I fabricate them and give them a good solid test run, I will let you know. I think the grand total on parts from home depot will run about 60 bucks, give or take. |

Rock on. Well, once done, I'd love to see pics to see what it's based on and, is it fully removable with no damage to frame? =) |

Wolfman Explorer tank bag, RevPack Tour Pack, and the Ventura rack with another bag on that. These all have the rain covers on so they look a bit ugly : Tank Bag: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/339295.html?1209667094 I LOVE the explorer tank bag. It's huge, and sits back enough on the tank to not obstruct any view. The Tour Pack needs fastened securely or it will shift over to one side and start to slowly slide down. I absolutely love the ventura rack. The grab handle is great simply for the bungee points, and my girlfriend loves it because it keeps her from sliding back off the seat. Then the actual luggage rack is fantastic for touring. It holds another tail bag, or small cooler, or tent/sleeping, or even a small toolbox great. |

Thanks Mike, now I know what kind of luggage to order. Brin- Still working on the design for the tiedowns to the frame; trying to make the rack (frame portion) so it will require no permanent mods but still be stable and secure. Been a pretty fun project so far- soon's I get it more organized, will post the results for you. |
