I'm looking at customizing a stock S3 seat to add a Corbin back rest to the seat. Does anyone have a Corbin seat they can shoot some photos of the details of back rest mounting bracket? |

I can get you some pictures tonight, but I don't think it would an easy task. The pictures won't show much either. Looking at the bottom of the seat all you will see is a hole where the bolt that secures the back rest goes. The Corbin seat pan is a lot heavier duty then the original plastic one. Dean |

No but if you go to corbin seats http://www.corbin.com/buell/s3gnl99.shtml here is a link. You can kind of see the way its made if you click on spec and then on base pan. You should get a good picture of the guts |

It's kind of hard to see the internals for this seat. All it is inside the seat is a piece of square pipe that fits around the post for the backrest. It looks like it's held in place with the fiberglass they use for the rest of the seat pan - It's some heavy beefy stuff. Here's a view of the seat pan. Here's a closer view of the 2 mounting holes for the backrest. You can use one setting or the other for rider comfort. Another view with the backrest set in there. Profile view from the back. Close-up of the hole for mounting. Sorry if these don't help. If you want some more or different angles, just let me know. |

Thanks! Those do help some just knowing everything is "inside" the seat and not under. Glassing a bracket into and reinforcing a stock seat pan would be easy enough. I'll post up the results as I progress. Loren |
