I have been a bit busy w/ football season but managed to ride a bit on Friday. I changed plug wires. I still have an old [it might be THEE old] battery Problem[s]: Bike seems to stall at low throttle deceleration It also seems to pop a bit It seems to stumble a bit coming off of idle on acceleration It was suggested that I have an air leak in the intake [seals?] I hate it when this thing isn't running right. |

I finally got a moment to change the intake seals. While I was at it, I installed a #45 lo-speed jet, made sure I had 2 1/2 turns on the idle jet too. The pops and stalling are gone, just as was suggested. I bought two jets yesterday and they were both stamped, 45 and 48. [I went with the 45] The jet I pulled out of the carb had no size number stamped on it. Does anyone know what size jet that might be? Do the stampings refer to drill bit sizes? |

The Keihin CV cough is cured by raising the needle ... The cough is caused by a lean condition as you move from the low speed jet area ... |

Seems like all is good. These conditions started abruptly, after 4 years of riding. I am hoping it was intake seals. I have idle screw set at 2 1/2 turns. It was at about 1 3/4. I guess I will try to tune the idle when I get a chance |

If you do not have a FAN you should replace the INTAKE SEALS every 2 years ... This stops the MYSTERIOUS CARB. PROBLEMS ... |
