When looking over my X1 the other day I notice that the rear header is very close to the frame. Just curious, what is the space measurement between between rear header and frame (at the closes point) on YOUR X1?

I measured mine with a stack of feeler gauges then I measured the stack of feeler gauges with a ruler. It came out to 3mm.

I didnt measure my M2 but I can fit my index finger between the frame and header on that bike.

It could be a manufacturing tolerance, but 3mm is too close.

Check your rear isolators. If they are torn or have deformed enough, they'll let the frame settle closer to the engine/swingarm assembly.

My X1 has 3/8" clearance and my S3T which shares the same basic frame as the M2 has 3/16".

I'm going to be in the 3/16in range. About 1/8in, on a header that is wrapped.

Thanks for the feedback... It's an 02 X1 with the beefy iso's. They appear to be in good shape. After looking at it again... it looks like the the header may not be into the muffler all the way. I'll try loosening the header bolts/muffler clamp and move the header more into the muffler.
