My 98 s1 has been running rough for over a year now.I have tried changing plugs,wires,coil,intake gasket seals and taking the carb apart.I have 65300 miles on it.I burn only 93 octane gas.It runs good when I give it the gas but when the motor isn't working(pulling) it runs rough even at idle.Could it be the ethanol gas we are using now. | ||

What do the plugs look like? Have you done a compression check or leak down check? What is the condition of the battery and connections? This is where I would start. Joe | ||

The plugs look good.The battery cranks over good. I will check every thing else this week end..Thanks. | ||

Hillbilly, did you replace the rubber in the carb when you took it apart? I find that I need to do a rebuild about every 5 to 8 years on mine. Might want to check the intake seal as well. I would also clean the jets real good while you have the carb apart if you have not done that. Let us know how it goes... Frank |
