i have a 2000 m2 cyclone and i was wondering if anyone know how to modify the gas tank. I want to make the front shorter so that my new forks don't crash into the tank. Basically i want to cut 1 inch out of the tank, but i am not sure what type of product to use to fuzz it all back together again |

What forks are you using? You still got the rubber bumpers on the frame? |

How about just getting an S1 tank? |

well i got a set of xb forks but i changed the rake and the handle bars so the tank either needs to sit farther back like an inch or two or a cut it down some how |

I put a S1 tank on my 2000 M2 and have plenty of clearance for clipon handlebars. |

can the rubber fork stoppers be ordered from some were? my left one is there but my right one is missing and when i turn my forks hard to the right they rub my tank, and some times the tank hits the start button. |

Do you need part numbers? Should be available from any dealer, just need to be ordered. Check with Liberty Buell in the Sponsors section. Chris will help you out and get you what you need. (Message edited by brinnutz on September 05, 2008) |

If you still have the bumpers on your frame and are hitting the tank you probably ought to put an S1 or race tank on it. The tank is nylon, trying to cut it down should prolly be done on a donor tank first because it probably won't go over well anyway. Could try taking that forward projecting bit down some with a belt sander if you've got another tank around to replace it with when, er, if it goes badly. |

Haha when i first got my bike (this is my first street bike) i was riding around trying to get my bearings and everytime i would turn hard left my horn button would press against the tank. It looked like i was trying to show off and get peoples attention but to be honest that was the last thing i wanted. |
