I am starting my rocker box conversion on my 2000 M2 to XB. It looks like you remove the cover and the lower plate, Can anyone answer this. It looks like the XB covers will only fit this way. Correct??? Thanks |

They are a retro fit ... Now you need less gaskets and have fewer parts ... Now you just plug the OEM breather holes ... "i" ran the breather hoses to a catch container ... |

So I take that as a yes. The lower plate with the internal baffle in the corner gets removed. I already plugged the old breather holes and put a new air cleaner system on. I have a Jaz 1 pint with breather to vent into. I am also going to vent my trans into the Jaz it has two 3/8 connectors, the trans just blows out the rear now. I'm sure what Buellistic meant to say was YES. You may need to file a bit of material off of the front of the front cover (left side, sitting on the bike) to make it fit. Run breather lines from the pcv valves to a "T" then either out the back like the tranny breather or to a catch container. It will take some digging but I posted pics from the job a few years ago, others have higher quality photos... It's in the KV: engine - breathers, routing... something like that. Incidentally I still have goo blowing out when I run the bike hard so run a catch can similar to Djkaplan's. |
