I gotta say, I like the tuber better!
BTW watch that front rotor, It's the six pin style that has a tendencey to loosen up and rattle. They do make a nice couple though.

It already rattles. I will be going to the dealer to see if all the recalls have been done.
This bike sure is different from the XB. When I turn it on, I expect to hear the fuel pump whine, and when I shut it off, I expect to hear a noisy fan!

Sweet ride Bikertrash.

Why is it with all the bikes to choose from, the only one that appeals to me is ANOTHER S1?

Killer ride. S1's still look so cutting edge...until I see one right next to an XB and it looks like a relic.

I like the flat black and ham can.

Looks like you have a hard choice before you go out riding now!

That S1 is no relic I would take it over that XB any day

FYI, the brake drive pin # is H0500.9B
The shims, or washers, are BA148.9SS
and a stock S1 seat is 52042-96Y
I also ordered the shifter kit, looks to be quite an improvement from stock.

For longer trips, the XB's Select seat is quite comfy. If I just want to go out and raise hell, the S1 is the obvious choice.

I want to do flat black on my spare bodywork. Do I just use black primer or is there actually flat paint too?

Noob painter here.

Skntpig,
The "official" (if there could be such a thing) hot-rodders flat black paint is John Deere Blitz Black. You can read all about it here:
http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/john-deere-blitz-b lack-31993.html
It is available in a rattle-can.
That said, one of my buddies painted his XB9R with Krylon flat black rattle-cans. It looked very good for a couple of years (some wear now with blue bodywork showing through). YMMV

Thats a good picture of the two. If you squint at that pic, its easy to see that they are related....

I believe when the dust settles and these bikes become even rarer, it'll be the S1 that becomes the holiest of the grails for future Buell enthusiasts.

And this is from an M2 guy.
