Has any one dealt with installing these rearsets for an x1. My problem is the footpeg becomes the pivot point for the shifter. when i attempt to put the stock footpeg mount through the hole on the shifter there is a lot of play, almost like there should be a bushing of some sort. I've checked the packaging and there is no such part, so I'm lost. Do I need to fashion an aluminum bushing, or just stop installing parts on my bike cause I suck. |

Brett, if you had the linkage that attached to the primary, not the rider pegs... yes, there is a nylon bushing that goes in there. Chances are, the local dealer wont have it. Best bet, get the oil-lite bushings for it from American Sport Bike. FWIW, I have these rear-sets on my X1, and love them. Chase |

I figured it out at work tonight tonight. The rearsets were probably designed around the old style shifter, and that means it pivoted on the footpeg mount. I have the updated shifter that pivots on the primary. I came home and dismantled a used foot brake and peg set up that i just recently purchased off ebay and what do you know there was a perfectly good bushing and it works perfect. thanks for the help Chase, BTW the clearance of the rearset plates looks really close have you had any issues with that. |
