Well, I went down today. Shoelaces got caught in the shifter and it was raining so I couldn't land it with one foot. I busted the brake pedal, mushed my air filter, dented the headers, broke the front blinker, and scratched up the brake lever. I need a brake pedal most. Can I get some part numbers? Will my bike run badly if the headers are dinged up and my air intake are mushy? Anything else I should be worried about? I am on a limited budget. Here's pics.

Hey, it was a crash like that that made me get a race kit for my M2.

You need to turn this into a good thing.

"Will my bike run badly if the headers are dinged up and my headers are mushy?"

Absolutely not, not for a stock M2. You are a prime candidate for wrapped headers. You may not like the look, but it's really the way to go now. A good metal guy could restore the pipe to it's pristine glory, but you can't afford that kind of talent now.

Wrap the pipes. Learn to love the look... and the benefits. If you do it right, it'll look racy and subversive.

It'll run fine with that squashed air filter, but it might not filter air very well. I recommend that you replace the element first chance you get.

The cheapest place I've found for the K&N a Forcewinder uses is directly from K&N.

Get some boots without laces when you get a chance.

I just bought a billet brake pedal off of ebay. It should be here on Tuesday. I am going to tear off my blinkers since not all of them worked before the crash anyways. I notice now that my mirror is busted on the right side. I am probably going to tear my mirrors off as well and find some bar ends.

So I probably won't have to replace the headers then? My dad is saying that any dent in them is really bad, and my engine could blow. Any truth to that? If I do need to replace the headers, I will just save some cash up and go with the force exhaust over winter, and sell my V&H pipe.

Thanks

"My dad is saying that any dent in them is really bad, and my engine could blow. Any truth to that?"

Uhh... no, certainly not with dents that size. I doubt the engine even notices it.

Just run the headers 'as is' if you can stand the rash, or get some header wrap if that's less visually offensive to you.

Unless they're almost pinched closed they should be good to go. Wrap 'em up, it'll help with the Buell leg.

Haha no capes!

Yea, I plan on wrapping up the pipes. Would the white/tan wraps look better than the black wrap? I am kind of tossed.

It all fades eventually, and they make paints for it.

Where can I get a replacement air filter that would work on my setup? Do I have the forcewinder installed?

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod= BU-1297

That's what I got off the site. That doesn't look like it will work.

Would this work?

http://www.jegs.com/i/K&N/599/RC-3680/10002/-1?CT= 999

Are there cheaper alternatives?

That Jegs price actually beats the K&N store by a few dollars for an RC-3680.

http://store.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-3680

The first link you posted is a replacement for a stock filter, the one in the stock 'breadbox'.

I ran with dents in my pipe that size for 4,000 miles and no telling how many the previous owner did and never had a problem. Of course I have a purty force exhaust now : D. And that filter? Unscrew the clamp that holds it on, pull it off, and push it out from the inside! Unless you see a tear in the element somewhere it's not gonna cause a bit of issue.

I could really use your broken brake petal if you are willing to part with it.
