Hey Gents, Bout to replace the breadbox with a forcewinder. Of course i'd like to spend as little as possible...so I found this one on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&item=130244214466 (please dont outbid me) My question is...are there any other parts necessary for installing this item. It doesnt look like there is a breather kit...which im really not too familiar with. So is this item just plug and play?...meaning I screw it on to the carb and ride with pride...or do i need to purchase additional parts? I called the seller at the location but the seller told me to call my local dealer and ask them. bidding is about to end in a few hours so as much info as possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks A Million. This forcewinder will make me look like a Buellionaire. |

"spend as little as possible" You already have the parts to build an "ECONO" Force ... ie: OEM SNORKEL PN 27547-96Y by the way is the TUNED length from the factory ... Fill the three holes and add a K&N Air Filter PN RC-3680 ... Did mine this way and can run it out in the open to look racy or under the Air Box which doubles as a slider for the right side ... |

The length isn't "tuned" for anything other than noise. You will need a breather kit, you can make your own with right angle breathers from a 96 S1. Use the Plastic T that came with your bread box and buy some rubber hose from the parts store. Make sure to get her dyno tuned after the install. (Message edited by spiderman on August 11, 2008) |

"i" used BLAST head PVC's(before XB's came out) ... Did you measure from the valve head to the end of SNORKEL ??? |

Or if you don't understand their lingo, I just traded into a new Forcewinder to replace my Hurricane flow, and it came with a breather kit that I don't need 'cuz I kept the previous one. I didn't know it came with it when NIB. Gimme your address and PayPal me $6 for shipping and it's yours. |

Here's how I did the breathers when I got a Forcewinder. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=3842&post=446814#POST446814 I eventually went to XB rocker covers which hides the hose routing to the catch-can. |

My catch container is a BLACK 20W50 oil plastic container behind my license plate holder on my S3T ... "i" just put the BLAST(did it before the XB's came out) PVC valves in my OEM valve covers ... |

I would not use the stock FW bolts theyre aluminum and soft, so unless you want to extract them from the heads I would skip those. DAMHIK if Coin is an issue Visit DJ or Buellistics solutions if not see American Sport Bike for some nice chromed Banjo bolts get some nylon washers for those too. the kit less hose is about 50$ from Al. The catch can is another project that you will have too, OH BTW check the carb vent groove in the flange of the FW if it is not big enough problems are said to result, check the KV under Force winder. good stuff. |

" BTW check the carb vent groove in the flange of the FW..." Hey, I was going to say that! Good call. I had one that needed the vent mod. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/11192.html?1113852451 It really does make a difference on a Keihin CV application. The Forcewinder probably restricts HP for a real cooking engine, but for a near stock one, it's an ideal modification. |
