Hey everyone. Well here's the story. The recall Showa shock on my Tuber bled all over the place, and turned into a pogo-stick. So I went out and bought a new (used) second recall Showa shock with bracket. Anyhow I switched out the shocks and the new bracket, torqued everything to spec from the book etc etc. Went way to smooth which scared me. So about 2-3 days later I notice a never before seen oil spot on my garage floor. No not that black nasty stuff from the shock, but nice clean Mobil 1...hmmm So I am sitting here wondering did I tweak a oil line? Did removing the cross bolts in the case to switch from the long to short bracket cause the lower housing gasket to fail? I am stumped to tell you the truth. Ok so anyone out there ever had something similar happen? |

Your case bolt idea sounds plausible...hit it with some brake cleaner, get it nice and dry and clean, and go for a medium-size jaunt before re-checking. Should help you pinpoint it. Hopefully you only knocked the oil filter loose a little bit when you were working under the bike.... |

For me, that fancy hard-to-find leak was a crack I'm the oil tank. |
