I've seen here and there folks mention the current "availability" of tuber body parts. I called Buell customer service and and was told "no dice". Is it possible the person I spoke to was wrong? Could I still buy new M2 bodywork? I'd be happy to pay but doesn't seem to be an option. I need black bodywork, but mostly the tail and tank. Does anyone know if there is any M2 body work tucked away in some dark corner somewhere??? |

Apparently not. I've had a "wanted" ad for a black Cyclone tailpiece out there for some time with no volunteers. |

What style bodywork did you need? I have a brand new early model (slim) M2 tailpiece and matching used seat. I gathered the parts thinking I was going to use them on my 00 M2, but my butt changed my mind. It's black too, with the stock Cyclone decal still on it and an unmolested rear fender. |

I need one for a 2002 M2. I wish that's what you had cuz I'd buy it. |

You wouldn't like it, believe me. I don't have a clue how anyone rides on those little, skinny seats. |

What style bodywork did you need? Unfortunately I'm in the same boat... looking for 2002-style. |

Well, if anybody has one, I want a black 2002 M2 tail section in good condition. The DPO cut mine, probably to fit bags. It looks kind of cool but it is starting to crack and it rattles, so I'd like to fix that. |

I still have my thrice painted 00 tailpiece. It eventually cracked at the rear mounts, but the cracks never got bigger. I ran it that way for years. It still looks good, but I run tail-less now and it just sits in my living room. I can't sell it because it's got Erik's signature on it. I hate the fat M2 bodywork, but I like the big fat seat and Manta tank. |

Jc, thanks for doing some legwork for me. Recently I noticed cracks on my tail faring, under the seat. I was planning to try and get some replacement once, but I guess it looks like that may be out. Which leads me to question if I can get a carbon fiber replacement. Anyone know? I was also curious how sturdy carbon fiber is? Is it going to crack with say a 200lb person riding passenger? I imagine passengers are what caused my original tail section to crack. Also, how hard is it to get carbon fiber to accept a new paint job? Airtech will build you a Carbon Fiber tail, but it'll be super-pricey. I priced a Fairing for my S2 in cf. It was gonna be $207 for them to glass me a new one (fiberglass). In carbon fiber they wanted $1,000! (Message edited by phelan on August 01, 2008) |

Wow! $1,000 for CF? Screw that. Max, I think I'm going to go with plastic repair for now. It's under the seat and never seen. Plus, after seeing the '09 1125R, I think I'm going to start saving my pennies. Thank you very much for the offer. I don't think I want to sell the M2, but I'm not sure how much I want to invest in it now. |

Yeh, I sent you a PM several days ago at least, but I didn't realize it was good protocol to say so on the forum. Sorry. |
