We have a 2000 cyclone m2 and the derby cover is shot. Called the local Harley shops for it and they said there was only 3 states that had it in stock???? 10-12 days for shipment....Is there anything interchangeable he can use in the meantime? Thanks |

It's the same as the same vintage Sportster item - did you try asking for it that way? You'll just have to be sure to get the right finish. |

Get one that says "Live to Ride, Ride to Live" I bet there is one hanging behind the dillweed who gave you that info. |

So..... Davefl.......thank you so much for your remark, it got me so much closer to solving our problem. Apparently, you don't know if there is anything interchangeable. Thanks |

As Zen mantioned, any XL cover from 1992 (? I think, 94 on for sure) thru 2002 will fit. They are all the same. |

Dave is right, Mr Blue. You can go to ANY Harley shop and pull one off the 'Wall of Chrome' right now... no waiting. He was right about the dillweed part too. |

That was the very first thing I changed on my bike 8 years ago... ironically those Allen heads also came off the 'Wall of Chrome' at the dealership. |

You can also get chrome bits at Ace Hardware - at least the ones around me. They carry a big selection of fasteners just for motorcycles. |

Jeez DJ, I'm not sure if I should be afronted or not! Inimitable? That's a first! ... I like it! The cover bolts are 1/4-20 x 3/4" if memory serves... might be 1".... reminds me, I need to get a few more to have on hand.. Brad |

Wait a minute... I thought 'inimitable' meant 'someone who steals your chair when you get up to relieve yourself'. It doesn't mean that at all... |

The cover from an '03 Sportster will fit as well. The motor wasn't changed until 2004. (Message edited by puddlepirate on July 14, 2008) |
