I am having a bit of a problem, my AGM battery will die in 5-7 weeks (approx) without even using the bike. It must be a short somewhere, or a corroded relay. Can anyone help me identify what the likely causes are? |

I have a somewhat similar problem I think too, but mine will go dead by the end of the day after I charge it. I gotta trace this down... |

Phelon, if I find out what is causing this in my bike, I will let you know. I am in the process of checking all of the systems and circuts for opens, shorts, etc. |

If your bike has a clock, that is a constant current drain and likely the reason for a battery to lose charge over time. The obvious fix is to put a battery tender type trickle charger to keep the battery from self-discharging especially if there is an alarm or clock involved. |

I have neither, and I have a battery tender, though I don't have it on all the time. Right now the issue is that it's spewing the battery acid out the vent and caused an oil leak in my lines, so I'm in no rush to charge it back up until I can find the short. I'll fix the leak then too. (Message edited by phelan on July 15, 2008) |
