Hello Josh. Welcome to the club. I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm sure somebody here will be able to answer it Jim (Message edited by 5liter on June 28, 2008) |

Is it an EVO based motor or an XB based motor? I THINK S&S only makes one for the EVO based model, in which case you are OK. |

with xb heads it will need a new front mount, not sure about the size of the jugs fitting... NRHS has some really nice front mounts for xb heads, i would talk to them too about the 99" motor. That thing would haul ass! |

im pretty sure im in contact with dan about every week, lol. ive been planning of putting this in a sportster. makin a streetfighter witha extended swing arm. drag it on the weekends. but a x1 or a s1w would be great. they have a lot of the parts that i would put on my sportster anyway. front end. wheels. etc. Im a sportster fan. but ive liked the tubers for a long time too. i guess it comes down to what i can get for cheaper. |

http://www.sscycle.com/iframes/catalog50.php They used to offer a full engine kit and so I'm not sure. But the catalog says the 79 inch kit has stock jug height & works on Buells. I'm doubtful about the 89 inch one in a tuber. Should fit a Sportster. I'd talk to a pro. |

You know Aaron Wilson's bonneville S2 is 100" motor, right? I would think the 99 inch would fit, but I could be wrong. As far as Buell vs Sportster dilema, no question there. I'm a long time Sportster fan, and I know you've seen at least some of my "Cruel Intentions" write-up. I too believed a sportster with Buell parts would satisfy me. But then I bought my S2. WOW. What a truly amazing (and sexy) machine. The motor is basically a stock '95 sportster motor, so it definitely feels a bit unrefined at idle (great, isn't it?) but once you ride it you're stuck. The bike just feels more planted, stable, and aggressive all at once. Not to mention that the S1 is a creature of beauty as well. In essence, it's the sportster of the Buell world. Stripped, rugged, fire breathing, fast, in your face aggression with all the attitude you need, and nothing you don't need. I would vote S1 for a 99" stroker project. |

Ive talked to aaron. no go on the tuber without some major frame alterations. How u doing phelan, still enjoying ur new baby i see. Good to see yah riding. I think it would be a great bike (99" buell) but its a .400 taller then stock and with a 100" motor in a tuber it hits the frame a bunch, and its only a 1/4 taller then stock. and this is from aaron. So the buellster is the plan. its gonna be mean. arched back bone, peanut tank. buell inverted front end. 180 tire, im thinkin 6 inch stretched arm. dirttrack seat. this is gonna be a mean streetfighter. im up for u guy's ideas. let the pictures fly. |
