so i went to the local stealership today to get a replacement rear isolator bracket...

my S2 took a digger last month and i destroyed that bracket (along with about 1300 worth of the right side of the bike, including every fairing on the thing!)

either way, they looked it up and said that they only can get the grey ones(touring version) not the billet aluminum ones(standard model). what gives?!

does anyone have a spare right side i could buy? should i start calling dealerships to see if its in stock somewhere? am i just going to have to change out both for the not-so-cool looking grey painted ones??

arrgh! im soo close to having it ALL back together and on the road!

and... THANKS ALL!

Pizza,
That sucks. I'm guessing maybe they can only get the S2T sideplates. Can't say for sure but if you have to go that route check the classifieds - John has a set of S2T sideplates in there. I was gonna grab them for the lowered pegs, but seeing as how you need them and I just want them . . .
Hope that helps a little.
And yeah, the billet ones look cooler.

it sucks big time! nonetheless i snatched up that fairing kit that was on ebay a couple weeks ago... it is BEAUTIFUL!

... now its down to just those nickel and dime things.. new air cleaner, carb hold down bracket, brake lever, footpegs, grips etc.

it already looks cooler than i did before... i almost want to sell off my 1125 and just ride the S2 full time again... HAHAH NOT! ... part time, yes. i still love the s2

Could be true...I seem to remember having to replace one for a customer a while back and it was gray. However, the PN for the polished plate (16268-94Y) still shows as active. <shrug> These guys show one in stock, maybe you could call them and they could put hands on it?

I have similar damage I'm repairing on my S2T.
I got a used S2 plate off ebay.
I was going to strip the other side so that they'd match.
If you wanted to get an S2T mount and trade I'd be up for it.
Or you could just get the S2T and blast and polish it.

I don't get why the S2T would be less. Mine, from the factory, appear to be pretty smooth where the coating has chipped. They look like polished plates that were just powdercoated. If that is the case they should cost more than the S2 plates.

I know the S2 plates are machined...perhaps the T plates are cast?

Court?
