I asked this question in an earlier thread but I don't think anyone is reading it. I have a faulty Ignition Module on my 02 M2 and no one in eastern Canada or New England Seems to have one. Best anyone can do is order at $113 + shipping USD and 10 days(best case). Should I order the Stock Buell replacement or should I take this opportunity to upgrade. Are there better alternatives out there should I go to a single fire Ignition? Ive been looking around on some websites but nothing states its for the 02 M2 mostly Sportster stuff.

I put a Daytona TwinTec nosecone-mount ignition in my FLHP (evo) and love it. Programmable/adjustable/selectable curves, switchable for single or dual fire, and totally nosecone-mounted so no box required. The single/dual switchable bit is nice, you can just do the pickup now, but later on if you want to go dual you can get a coil and change just a couple of wires...

buy the race ECM from Buell. It immediately cures a whole bunch of little rideability problems.

The race kit ignition control module for a carburetted M2 won't make the same difference a race kit ECM for an injected S3 or X1 will make in 'rideability'.

The M2 ignition module doesn't control fuel calibration like an ECM for fuel injection does.

I've got a stock ignition module from my '00 M2 lying around. PM me if you want it, it is just gathering dust.

An OO won't fit an 01 or 02.

thanks Kilroy but DJ is correct. I found that out after the PM. Apparently the 02 is an oddball year that's why no one has one in Stock. Rat I was looking at the TwinTec site but there is no mention of Buell and with no access to a Dyna Tuner I'm scared of never getting it setup right. Looks like I'm just going to have to order the stock unit and wait and hope whatever fried the thing dosent fry the new one.
